Muhammad Ali died earlier this year. He is from a very different time than we are, he was more than just a regular boxer, he was also a humanitarian and arguably a humans right activist. He was born in the 40's and started his boxing career in the 60's, which are time stamps known for their racism, Ali was a great and well known athlete but during those years, he did not get any privilege from that, he was still a black man, which put a couple limits on him. He later refused to fight in vietnam and was given three years banned from boxing and he retired in 1981. He later developed parkinson and not much happened with him after retirement, yet his popularity never declined.
It is weird to think most people would be called cocky if they went around saying they are the greatest of all time, but he could, because he was arguably the best in his field and he was very loved.
He helped to fight racism in the US and who knows what would be of him if he had given up from casual mean comments he recieved in his early years,
